They sent me over to Helsinki
Fresh out of the ENA
The left-right binary's old to me
I believe in the paperwork
The bureaucratic coup d'etat
These times demand more
Than the will of the people

We were fighting the climate crisis
Toxic players had to be cut
I proposed that we test it first
Let's kill something small

So we landed on the Finnish art world
Its heavy subsidies and hobbyist tone
With the help of the ECJ
I was ready to make my case

We have the power to call the shots
Need more than just budget cuts
Finnish art world must be shut
Shut, shut down

I had to come up with reasoning
First I needed to understand
The global art scene today
What a mess
They sent me portfolios
I visited studios
I looked at these videos
With young people playing
Elves in the forest
I found the ones that concentrate
The ones that shy from compromise
The ones that do
Whatever it takes to expand the notion
Of being a human being

These ones were never based in Finland
So
Shut it down

We have the power to call the shots
The wheel of crises came to a halt
Finnish art world has been shut
Shut, shut, down

For all of us, as a lesson
As an example, as a sacrifice
As a way of making something
Out of nothing
We're all beneficiaries
Of these listless Nordic people
