Paper Plains

We wind down this road, there are flyers and butterflies
Our grey hair exposed, as the fire grows wild
It's the lucky card we're dealt

Some guns that shoot to the sound of salvation
As the man in the farm house get his hands untied
It's what we did it for

I fold the earth
To what I wish it were
It's all, paper plains, now

We drink to the sound of the sailors all laughing out
We trudge back and forth over this land is ours now
Just, as it once was

People got hurt, and the trees are all marked with blood
So we move to the plains, which are still as wide ever
And we, spread our hearts over them

I fold the earth
To what I wish it were
It's all, paper plains, now

I fold the earth
To what I wish it were
It's all, paper plains, now

The water tastes like wine, and the well is completely gone
So there's only one more thing left to drink
On these, paper plains
