The Machines

The machine screams as it gets into motion
Steel on steel generate a painful roar
The furnace heat slowly starts to burn my skin
Just another day, another day in this life
There is only heat, scrap, dirt, dust and pain
Sweat is the only thing I am allowed to lessen my thirst

I know my world is dying
We all know my world is dying
To make sure I get to live
their life must be the first to give

Have I been here too long
The clockwork rhythm of the machine
they speak to me about death
whispers that call me to act
Trying not to dissociate myself from reality
Resisting their command will be the death of me

I know my world is dying
We all know my world is dying
To make sure I get to live
their life must be the first to give
Their life must be the first to give

Another dead found half burning in the furnace
Another crushed by the hammer instead of steel
Another decapitated by the clockwork wheels
Another accident awaiting to happen
They are the sacrifice for the machine
Their hunger soothed they return to rest
Next time when they speak I will resist
It's their push that I detest

I know my world is dying
We all know my world is dying
To make sure I get to live
Their life must be the first to give
Their life must be the first to give

In the end it controls me
