When the fat lady sings

That light comes shining down
And it's the nicest thing I've seen
I will not hesitate as mine will change from red to green
I've seen it in the eyes of those who know their time has come
There're names on every bullet made and none can be outrun

I've stared and sunsets
Teary eyed directly at the sun
Into the abyss staring back down the barrel of a gun
I wish I was afraid to die to leave this world behind
Wasting life on fearing death seems meaningless and blind

I'll walk right into that ol' light
And shake the reaper's hand
And when he raises scythe
I'll raise my chin and I will stand
And face the skies with grateful eyes
To the sound of wings
And of that fat lady
And the song she finally sings

They say my time has come
A choir of doctors all agree
I guess that I should panic
Cry and fall down to my knees
These hands I'm dealt
I'll play'em 'til my final chip is lost
Each minute here was golden
Every second worth its cost

I wish I was afraid to die
But all I feel is more alive
It's not a mask it's not a lie
Hell I might even plain survive.
I wish I was afraid to die
To face the final stage alone.
Guess fear was not my strongest side
Not even of the great unknown.

I'll walk right into that ol' light
And shake the reaper's hand
And when he raises scythe
I'll raise my chin and I will stand
And face the skies with grateful eyes
To the sound of wings
And of that fat lady
And the song she finally sings
