Cowboy Thoughts
If a pilgrim saw a big black plastic bag
Blowing down the street in the wind
He'd probably think it was a ghost
And write an old myth about it
Around the fire with his friends
Tell that story without end
Around the fire with his friends
It'd grow much taller than any of them
If an ancient roman slave got free
And walked all the way to modern Spain
He'd probably buy a big TV
And sit and watch commercials all day
He wouldn't think to change the screen
He might be afraid, he might even scream
He wouldn't think to change the scene
He might get bored and walk to Greece
If a stegosaurus went to sleep one night
And then woke up in Santa fe
She'd probably take a bus to anaheim
But fall asleep and get off in LA
It'd probably be a real big change
She'd never used the bus till today
She'd probably not have money to pay
And I doubt she'd fit on there anyway
If a massive alien godlike being
Had to sneeze, and it blew us all away
Well I sure would be surprised, because I couldn't see him with my eyes
In fact I'd probably die without learning its name
Blowing down the street in the wind
He'd probably think it was a ghost
And write an old myth about it
Around the fire with his friends
Tell that story without end
Around the fire with his friends
It'd grow much taller than any of them
If an ancient roman slave got free
And walked all the way to modern Spain
He'd probably buy a big TV
And sit and watch commercials all day
He wouldn't think to change the screen
He might be afraid, he might even scream
He wouldn't think to change the scene
He might get bored and walk to Greece
If a stegosaurus went to sleep one night
And then woke up in Santa fe
She'd probably take a bus to anaheim
But fall asleep and get off in LA
It'd probably be a real big change
She'd never used the bus till today
She'd probably not have money to pay
And I doubt she'd fit on there anyway
If a massive alien godlike being
Had to sneeze, and it blew us all away
Well I sure would be surprised, because I couldn't see him with my eyes
In fact I'd probably die without learning its name
