Winter Solstice

The shorter the days become
The harder it seems to motivate myself
& All I need is to feel the sun, through the summer breeze
When the days begin with your lover in your arms
& The sun seeping through your blinds
It's hard not to grin
Or to walk around with a spring in your step
& A flutter in your heart

We never had that much of a summertime this year
When I felt that touch of the rays
It's those summer days I'll hold so dear

The thought of another day
Of waking up to the same routine, but late
It feels like so long
But nothing ever changes when we hide away
It kinda feels too late
For every step forward
Leads to three steps astray
We could share the blame
