Healed by Degrees

Yeah, darkness was all he'd ever known from the moment of his birth
So, he learned to live without the light as he sojourned here on Earth
One day a man took him by the hand and walked him out of town
He could tell by the way he felt inside something great was about to go down

There's a power in this world, that will bring you to your knees
Sometimes the healing comes by degrees

Well they stopped and the man touched his eyes and asked him what he could see
He dimly saw men walking by though to him they looked like trees
Again, he felt the man touch his eyes and his soul stirred deep inside
He saw the light of day at last as he looked up toward the sky
