"Surely I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living"
When the psalmist says that

When the psalmist says that
"The land of the living" I used to hear that and think
"Right, we're going to heaven to be with God one day"
But the land of the living is actually our life right now
It's this life, right here!
And this is the good news, that it's as you are
Like, your life as you are, you as you are
God's not waiting for you
To get to some magical place before He's like
"Now I'm going to show you"
But my prayer is that we would have these open eyes
That — in Hebrews 11 it says, man, it's worth a man's while
It's worth a person's while, to search for God
Because whoever seeks will find
"Surely I will see the goodness of the Lord
"In the land of the living!"
Right here!
Sometimes we need each other to see that
To be the one to point it out
To say: "Do you see this goodness around you right now
"You, huddling in the corner, with your hands over your eyes?
"Time to open your eyes, and see it"
I wonder if we can keep singing that again
And wherever you are tonight, whatever is happening
This isn't just like a positive thoughts kind of thing
This is actually the truth of God
That we will see the goodness of God in the land of the living
