Don't Want to Drown

The sand
A welcoming warmth to my feet
The breeze
A brisk gentle graze on my cheek

The bitter cold of the water
Forgotten in a moment
As the sun reaches my back
I know I'll be back

When you touch me
It's like I'm at the sea
You're a breath of freshwater air
A wave of emotion falls over me
And I hope, oh I hope
I don't drown

The water
A frigid feeling that cannot be beat
The waves
Crashing and numbing my skin

Soon after though, they dissipate
Forgotten in a moment
Leaving me, with a salty sting
I know this will sting

When you touch me
I feel like I'm at the sea
You're a breath of freshwater air
A wave of emotion falls over me
And I hope, oh I hope
I don't drown

So I'll wait for just the right time
To explore what I was assured
Venture into blue, sea-green
I sincerely hope I don't go too deep
Cause I don't
No, I don't, want to drown
