A Medieval Story

All different ages, have different cages. As I can see ours is filled with three
First is morality, next is mortality, third is society's too carefree

Wish I could be a man of glory, wish I could live in a different day
Wish mine could be a medieval story, wish I could go the honorable way

Want to be thought of, when I go above. No progress made, my life's a blank slate
I am in dire straits, rethinking through debates, for original thoughts I still wait

Wish I could be a man of glory, wish I could live in a different day
Wish mine could be a medieval story, wish I could go the honorable way

Not Richard Lionheart, nor am I Mozart. What must I be to be deemed worthy
One commonality, of the plurality, of greater men is immortality

Wish I could be a man of glory, wish I could live in a different day
Wish mine could be a medieval story, wish I could go the honorable way

I know I must admit, I am a hypocrite. No memory lasts, I am a realist
But I can not resist, don't want to be dismissed, as my life fades, my memory's not missed

Wish I could be a man of glory, wish I could live in a different day
Wish mine could be a medieval story, wish I could go the honorable way

Wish I could be a man of glory, wish I could live in a different day
Wish mine could be a medieval story, wish I could go the honorable way

Wish I could be a man of glory, wish I could live in a different day
Wish mine could be a medieval story, wish I could go the honorable way
