kroger sushi

I'm from California
So I'm used to sushi fresh
But our first date was at Kroger
Got a package straight from them
And I'm not lying when I tell you
That was probably the best lunch that I've ever had

You bought me a frisbee
Drove me to your favorite park

While we watched leaves fall from trees into the lake

I fried you an egg while we played Super Mario
I'm always player one but this time I had played as Toad
So I could prove easygoing
When I'm not easygoing at all

I guess it's all okay now, I can just play alone
The table's made for two but I made eggs and jam for one
I can make you a plate

We were watching turtles
When you asked me to be yours
Pirate songs playing on shuffle
Cause I still couldn't afford to
Pay monthly for premium
Which didn't work out well when we broke up

I was crying to a podcast ad
Distract me from myself
I did everything I could
To get my mind on something else
But I couldn't get away from you
Your name is still tattooed into my phone

We went to your house to watch a stupid Netflix show
Neither of us liked it, we found humor in the acting so
We finished the whole movie
And then laughed when we had figured out the end

But I never would've guessed that'd be the last time that we'd talk
Before things got really awkward and eventually it stopped
I'm still not sure what happened
But everything came screeching to a halt

You came out of nowhere
It was over in a blink
But I still wouldn't have missed it
If I had to choose I think
