This Night

In the shadows, the beast awakens
The heart pounds as darkness thickens
An echo of despair that's mistaken
The dread of this night, in my soul, quickens

My mind is obscured this night
Thoughts have faded to black
I forgot who I was
In a minute all has changed

Future erased from reality
In this present all hope is gone
Of the past remains only evil
Pitch dark intentions

Try to fight it off, to find calm
Nothing can be done, I am smothered
Back in that world of chaos
Where life gives way to nothingness

Every breath echoes in emptiness
Voices lost in the abyss of distress
Doomed to eternally reminisce
In this pattern of inner ruination, I confess

Reach out to escape, to no avail
Hell amongst hells, my only truth
Spirit has turned to madness
Rationality - a forsaken memory

I cannot be saved anymore
Each second lasts forevermore
How did I get to this place?
No way out - my game over now

Try to fight it off, to find calm
Nothing can be done, I am smothered
Back in that world of chaos
Where life gives way to nothingness

What is real, I cannot know
Life has voided my body
Every thought carries poison
No choice, I have to swallow

This night might never end
Will I dwell here forevermore
Waiting is my only choice
Till I forget and start again
