Hummingbird

Two, three, four

Snowstorm, the blurry cold means that my hands don't feel a thing
Unique snowflake falls so slowly on a hummingbird's wing
If I knew of half the battle, I would find a way to win

Maple taffy, syrup sweet, born on ice, now meets my tongue
Hummingbird sings solemn songs as she awaits the morning sun
Counting down December days
The contrast of warmth that's in my blood

There's a thrill hanging in the air, and I don't quite know how to steer
Reminds me of a happy song I used to sing when I was here
And there's this innocence I knew, I haven't felt that way in years

It gets dark so damn early, the wind pushes through the door
The hummingbird flies into blizzard, and I can't see her anymore,
and my toboggan flips right over - I think i've told you this story before

Oh, oh, oh
There is no where else to go
Black ice on all the roads

And oh, oh, oh
How I love the snow
I hope that hummingbird got wherever that she needed to go
