Windship

Tales were told of a ship in flight
No one believed until they were granted sight
All behold this magnificent beast
As the windship sails, through the sky to the east

"Hello my friends and welcome aboard
Make yourselves at home on my winged arc
Don't get excited you'll only want more
And you'll never want to disembark"

The ship set sail on the rough sky winds
The big bad breeze blew through the feathered fins
Escaping reality no longer a sin
For the windship was holy and blessed all within

"Why don't you assume your post
Go to the mast to see what's ahead
But whatever you do don't look below
Heed these words my friends or we'll all be dead!"

Further east the feathered beast flew,
The captain then began to address his crew,
All in the sky consumed by wonder,
They were not concerned with what lied under

"Ladies and gents I have something to say
And I as your captain implore you to listen
If we are to take treasure today
We will do so under my supervision"

A good leader he was the captain of old
He lead the windship to glory and gold
But one foul day he lost the wind
And the windship fell to its fatal end

"All hands on deck I say listen here!
Somethings on the hull and it won't come off
Who looked down I said, I thought I was clear!
Look closely now at the doom you've wrought!"

The glorious windship fell on that day,
No one had any words to say,
The sky was filled with the cries of many,
No one survived, Not one, Not any.
