We Had Enough

"We Had Enough"
Grew up in a time... we were poor as dirt...
Didn't have a lot but we made it work... A family of six... when times were simple... We had shoes... with worn out soles...
we patched our jeans to hide the holes... That was way back when the times were simple... But we had enough... We had enough...

Daddy worked from dawn to dusk... and Mama knew that she could trust... his hand would put food upon the table...
So Mama fried the cornbread, and Mama fried the chicken... And we joined hands and bowed our heads... prayed grace for all the fixins'...AND we had enough... More than enough...

For we had each other... a love like no other... We had enough, more than enough...

We attended Sunday School... We lived by the Golden Rule and we sang Jesus loves me this I know... Even now, I reminisce... about a time when we weren't rich, about a time with nothing much to show... But we had enough, more than enough...

For we had each other... a love like no other... We had enough... For we had each other... a love like no other... We had enough, We had enough...
