Human

Still wake up late
I don't keep track of time
A hometown hero but I'm
Barely getting by

Am I okay having nothing to leave behind
Everyone's letting their roots grow
While I'm losing mine

Lately
Everyone's changing
Starting their families and building foundations
Thought I'd be happier
Going against the grain
But maybe it's too late
To hop on the train and be stable
Wish I was able
To know how the hell it would feel
To be normal
Don't know who made the rules
On how we're supposed to be living
Who's to say there's only one way
To be human

Almost 30 but I'm still growing up
Friends are settled down
While I'm on the run
I'm not okay
Giving in to the spell
That they're under
I'm trying my best
To hold on to my
Sense of wonder

Lately
Everyone's changing
Starting their families and building foundations
Thought I'd be happier
Going against the grain
But maybe it's too late
To hop on the train and be stable
Wish I was able
To know how the hell it would feel
To be normal
Don't know who made the rules
On how we're supposed to be living
Who's to say there's only one way
To be human

It's hard to believe
They've got it all figured out
As if everyone's happy
With where they're at now
The grass might look greener
On the other side of that
White picket fence
But the paint isn't dry

Lately
Everyone's changing
Starting their families and building foundations
Thought I'd be happier
Going against the grain
But maybe it's too late
To hop on the train and be stable
Wish I was able
To know how the hell it would feel
To be normal
Don't know who made the rules
On how we're supposed to be living
Who's to say there's only one way
To be human
Oh to be human
