Stale Gingerbreads

This should be the most wonderful time of the year
Instead i'm curled up on the carpet
Crying my eyes out
Teardrops shimmer
Salt-water river
Mom praying "let it get better"

Mirror, mirror, on the wall
Isn't this the saddest season of them all?
It feels like christmas is yet to come
Even though it has already gone

Pure, innocent enthusiasm
To wake up on the 24th
Smell the baked gingerbreads
And kiss the snow
Like i haven't done it before

Mirror, mirror, on the wall
Isn't this the saddest season of them all?
It feels like Christmas is yet to come
Even though it has already gone

Let the joy of a child
Remain
Maybe in seven years time
The snow
Will rise
