Cracks in the Pavement

The lines on the walls are like the lines on my face
From the tears that are falling
Can't keep them away
There's an ocean between tomorrow and yesterday
And I keep trying to find the meaning as I make my way

Spent years trying to be stronger than I am
'til I started to believe maybe I can
Make it through each mile I have to go before I land
Still I'm trying to find the meaning in right where I'm standing

But there's so many cracks in this pavement I walk
And somedays I'm gonna have to just trip on 'em all
Some days I dance and some days I crawl
But my head still hits the pillow the same way when night falls

I stare out the window looking for a sign
That something I can do will make it all fine
That the way I live is gonna bring a better time
Still I'm trying to find the meaning in life's crooked lines

But there's so many cracks in this pavement I walk
And sometimes I'm gonna have to just trip on 'em all
Some days I dance and some days I crawl
But my head still hits the pillow the same way when night falls

Sometimes all I need is to look into your smile
Like maybe it's alright to stay for awhile
And I don't have to walk alone every single mile
And the meaning's gonna come in its own sweet time

But there's so many cracks in this pavement I walk
And sometimes I'm gonna have to just trip on 'em all
Some days I dance and some days I crawl
But my head still hits the pillow the same way when night falls

There are so many cracks in this pavement I walk
And sometimes I'm gonna have to just trip on 'em all
Some days I dance and some days I crawl
But my head still hits the pillow every time night falls
