Cloudy Days

I remember the cloudy days
I still see the cotton candy array
I can smell the freshly cut grass
And the summer

I can still see the trees
I can still feel that coarse breeze
I know what I've put behind
Far far far behind

As what I see gets clearer
I feel the time breeze close by
My little candle my little star
Smokes in darkness forevermore

I have no roadmap in my mind
I still run wherever my heart leads
Over the moss and those heart-shaped leaves
Now I'm through the jungle at the sea

I came here wearing a pressed white shirt
Now it's wet and colored like sand
There's glass and a note for me
Which I read silently

As what I see gets clearer
I feel the time breeze close by
My little candle my little star
Smokes in darkness forevermore

Though the ink is hard to make out
These words still speak to me
They're the words of which we're all in need
They're the ones you hear
They're the ones that'll heal you tonight
For some reason the things we need are rarely the things we see
Rarely the air we breathe is used for good
Just don't forget
Please don't forget
These words are written out for you

As what I see gets clearer
I feel the time breeze close by
My little candle my little star
Smokes in darkness forevermore
