Dream Like a Java Bean

I had a dream they were having protests
For positivity in the streets of Portland
Damien Lillard was rising to the occasion
And everyone got together for one last party

But they needed to serve food
If there was going to be drinking
So Floyd drove around all night
Spreading the word to pack a lunchbox

Rachel called me up that morning
And asked do you remember that thing you said
When we were back in college
About treating everybody like it's their birthday?
I said I don't remember that
But I like the concept

Cause even when its dark inside
There's a light that always seems to rise

Made it back to Maryland
To see my parents and my high school friends
We were sitting out Jake's backyard
Drinking beer and eating pizza and laughing
About all that's happened
And somehow it got mentioned
That Madison had never been camping
Out in the Blue Ridge Mountains
So Annie planned it

I guess even when it's dark outside
There's a light that always seems to rise

So now I'm driving East on 45
Going out to meet my friends in the mountains
And the sun is getting in my eyes
Reminded me of the way it did that morning
When I dreamt of Portland
