It's Christmas time again
And the snow is on the ground
In this crazy world we live in
There seems little peace to be found
But we can still be thankful
For the friends and family we have
And keep them close in our hearts and minds
Try to share a few laughs

The news seems worse everyday
Filled with wars, violence, and death
Strangers attacking strangers
For no reason that makes good sense
But we can still change the world
If we'd be only willing to try
To set our sights on a better future
Where we can laugh instead of cry

Equality used to mean everyone
Was free to do their own thing
Each person with their own thoughts and ideas
With nobody forcing
Now it seems that the meaning
Of this concept has changed
And holding a different viewpoint
Makes you a target to be shamed

The news seems worse everyday

What's happened to the world
That everything comes in two bins
The haters and the hated
The oppressor and the oppressed
What happened to free expression
Integrity and tolerance
The world seems to have fallen in love with hate
How much more of this can the world really take
