Celestial Defilement

My domain is endless, yet you are so contained
Such promise, only to be sullied by my hands
In a nebula, they have grown
Their fate is as a whores

As if you can ever escape
I promise you this is it
Your purity and your light

A black hole is as nothing to how
I will diminish you
Debasing you for pure pleasure
Is what it means to be born a

Star in this realm
All the light wanes when faced with me
I degrade and consume all before me
You can never understand

Watching the shine drain from their souls
The intensity of their struggle
Stars do not appear to feel
But I have

Seen their pain
They wish to burn bright, bringing life and joy
My transcendence means that this wish is denied
Life-giving to wishing yours could end
This is not for you to decide

"Oh, why me?" They cry
We are not born with choice
The powerful will always rule, and here
There is no one else but me

I am the only one to see your defilement
Degradation, the pollution of your purity
That is for me and me alone

Do you understand what is happening?
You have been born to a fate inconceivable
Something once worshiped by humankind
Now taken for granted and left to my desires

Why do they continue to produce and multiply?
They surely know that I await them in the dark
In fields of gold, they shine
My shadow always present, yet still they try

When a human looks into the sky

The poisoned chalice from which I sip

The celestial, home to gods
Despite its boundless space
