The Sun, the Moon and the Stars

When you left, I asked the Devil for a deal
And I could see he found it much to his appeal
But he regretted soon we ever met, you see
In the contract, there were only my demands
And whatever he would bring was contraband
But the look deep in my eyes it forced his hand
Mr. Lucifer, please know
I'll make it clear before you go
I will hunt you down if you don't make it so
So, he went to seek the Sun up in the sky
And the Moon and stars that hovered in the night
And he spoke my name and filled them full of fright

Who was once this man's whole world
And the job he asked me clearly to unfurl
Tell the Sun to light her day
Tell the Moon and stars to pray
Should they fail to watch my baby when it's late
Looking at the Moon
Looking back at you
See me staring at the stars
Only they know where you are

If I could I surely would
Light her day the way it should
And be there at night, oh if I only could
But we parted long ago
And where she is now, I don't know
