People sometimes forget to
Recognize themselves
Someone's heart hopes to find another

Someone's heart craves
The taste of multiple tear jerker at once
Some laughter adorn these eyes
Yet only one laughter
Adorns the heart
Does the story
Begin in such a way?
The rules of love
The source of teaching
Were not singular
Life teaches
A myriad of things
But that one thing
Always remains elusive

For life's greatest lessons
Perhaps too late
Does anyone in this world
Truly understand
The essence of love?
