Beaded Bracelet

I'm standing in the crowd tonight
Though I'm normally the one on the stage
I've seen you before you're a familiar sight
But I can't put a name to your face

That boy plays guitar and he's in a band
Think I saw them live back in '95
The songs he writes are bold but sweet
Like fine poetry
Oh I wish he'd write a song about me

When I met him for the first time
Thought he was so dumb I'll admit
His head was in the clouds and his eyes were wild
But his smile made up for all of it

He wore beaded bracelets that he made
Colours exotic and bright
He made one for those he got on with
And those that he liked
He made me one that night

And I still wear your beaded bracelet
A bit faded but it's alright
Thinking how we ever got along
We were nothing alike

He was day and I was night
He was wild and I liked to hide
But he brought out the best in me and I
Held him back
Before he did anything crazy

And I still wear your beaded bracelet
I have your beaded bracelet
I've kept your beaded bracelet
After all this time
