Minefield

Woke up today under the weather
I've got some kind of thought, stuck in my mind, causing confusion
It's feeding me doubts and dissaray, telling me lies day after day
Crippling my thoughts, taking my energies away

I do know that I could have been stronger
Salt of the earth for what it's worth not that much longer
I'm only human after all, push me and surely I will fall
I never meant to face these challenges at all

I'm stuck in a minefield (Got to get through it)
Minefield (How do you do it?)
Got your head in the cloud, feet on the ground

I don't want my mind to starting fading
Drifting away, into the mist, gone in the shadows
Life is for living every day, whatever thoughts come your way
Sometimes you carry more than all these words convey

And so you're stuck in a minefield (Got to get through it)
Minefield (How do you do it?)
You've got your head in the cloud, feet on the ground

Life is too short for illusions
There's no time to reminisce
There's no time for fairy tales
If this is as good as it gets
Then I want to savour
Whatever comes next

I will try to push through
What else can I do?

You've got me down on my knees
I'm begging you please
These shackles are
Weighing me down
Tied to the ground
I can't make a sound
