Best Man
Mentors. Youth Leaders. Pastors
Man of God. Brothers. Men
We need our fathers
The best man in life, homey
You raise your son to be the Best Man
You raise your kids will be the Best Plan
A father's role is to Breed and Lead Men
We're destined - to fulfill God's plan (Amen)
I have a story to tell
May God allow me to speak
About a man who heart was strong
But his mind was weak
He grew up in a home
Never missing a plate
Mama done the best she could
Pops wasn't so great
Not that he was a bad father
He was just missing his son
Too busy paying the consequences
For all the things he done
But the food on the table
Wasn't enough for this man
And taking care of his Mama
Wasn't part of the plan
He was mad, he was broken
He was having a fit
Mama start blaming Pops
For not being there for the kids
The man wasn't seeking money
He was looking for love
He knew his parents loved him
But only cos he was their son
Pops risking his freedom
Mom's struggling and praying
Pastor on the TV
But had no clue what he saying
He turnt out to be nothing like his father
But with his pride
That was a hard pill to swallow
You raise your son to be the Best Man
You raise your kids will be the Best Plan
A father's role is to Breed and Lead Men
We're destined - to fulfill God's plan (Amen)
You raise your son to be the Best Man
You raise your kids will be the Best Plan
A father's role is to Breed and Lead Men
We're destined - to fulfill God's plan
(Amen)
Now this man was a boy around this time
Being stuck in his ways
Feeling this is his prime
His Pops sitting in jail
In His cell reading mail
Letter from his baby Mama
Saying their son needs bail
That hit Pops hard
Feeling he scarred his son
Knowing what he done today
How soon tomorrow would come
Not only did this man
Got caught in the system
Him too has a baby mama
With Two children
And just like his father
He was missing his kids
Too busy paying the consequences
For all the things he did
After being released from jail
Pops gives him a call
But it been so long
The man refused to talk
But his Mama said Boy, get on that phone
Little do you know
He's the reason why you made it home
The moral of the story
Fathers' reach out to your children
A part of being the Best Man
Is to make the Best Decision
You raise your son to be the Best Man
You raise your kids will be the Best Plan
A father's role is to Breed and Lead Men
We're destined - to fulfill God's plan (Amen)
