Fly Back Home

I sit on top of my suitcase
Waiting on a boarding gate
I hope it's not too late
To say goodbye to that foreign land
And to that foreign mother who can understand
A tongue not of her own
Even when I felt so alone
And when I didn't recognize her very stones
Flakes of gold and blue
Those colors stick with me like glue
I feel her warmth come shining through

Do I miss my old me?
Or do I revel in meeting who I want to be?
Will she write a poem for me?
And will she weep as I soar high above the East Sea?
I sigh as I fly back home

I wonder if she'll ever etch
The footprints in my memory
And all those nights and streets with lights
They soothe and ease my wandering mind
Like those foreign words that make me sigh
They journeyed alongside me
The same way rain kept pouring on me
And when the sun shone down to say "let it be"
Imagine if she said
"Darling hold me to my chest and I promise I'll put you to rest"

Do I miss my old me?
Or do I revel in meeting who I want to be?
Will she write a poem for me?
And will she weep as I soar high above the East Sea?
I sigh as I fly back home

Do I miss my old me?
Or do I revel in meeting who I want to be?
Will she write a poem for me?
And will she weep as I soar high above the East Sea?

Will she weep?
Will she weep?
Will she weep?
As I soar
As I soar
As I soar
High above
High above
High above
The East Sea
East Sea
East Sea

I sigh as I fly back home

Ooooh
Ooooh
