Tucson Friday Nights
Another Friday night back in '76
Playing 8-track tapes and chasin' chicks
Our trucks and jeeps all polished up just right
It was just another Tucson Friday night!
Cruisin' Speedway after the football game
I met a pretty little girl barely knew her name
She jumped in my truck, slid over next to me
4 on the floor between her knees
Off to Pontatoc the place to be in the seventies
In that dry riverbed surrounded by hills
We tested our rigs and got our thrills
A big bonfire, flames burnin' bright
Smoke filled the air on those desert nights
It was just another Tucson Friday night!
With a billion stars in the clear desert sky
The boys drank beer and the girls got high
4 Low, hit the gas, pop the clutch, and up the hills we'd go
There were a few things her daddy didn't know
With the girls all screamin' and Stevie Miller blaring
We somehow survived being fearless and daring
We had a few close calls, drifting side to side
But somehow we kept those rigs upright
It was just another Tucson Friday night!
With the city lights glowing in the valley below
We were on first base and headed for home
One kiss, real close, not now, she said it's time to go
There were a few things her daddy didn't know
Another Friday night back in '76
Playing 8-track tapes and chasin' chicks
Those high school years were the best, we grew up right
It was just another Tucson Friday night!
It was just another Tucson Friday night!
Playing 8-track tapes and chasin' chicks
Our trucks and jeeps all polished up just right
It was just another Tucson Friday night!
