A Hundred Floors Higher

I'm here on the skyscraper
standing a hundred floors higher.
Around me thousands of people
below in the streets of this town.

They're busy, have fun
and drive on their cars easy going.
I'll move just a step forward
and I'll be among them, be down.

But there's a sunset so kitschy,
a blood-colour red disk in the skyline,
and a warm wind is bringing up
some relief wave in my hair.

It's a summer-night summer wind
maybe it's trying to push me.
But i'm freezingly sad
not try to remind why I'm here.

There is nothing holding me back
below in this world now.
But it's hard to decide to leave it,
to do it right now.

So, I'm here on this skyscraper,
standing a hundred floors higher.
Around me thousands of people
below in the streets of this town.

I'm looking down.

I'm here for a long time now,
the sun is set, it's getting dark here.
And a marvellous lightshow,
all over the town left beyond.

And I wonder about the number
of people who live there.
There are thousends and thousands,
and I know just a hundred of them.

And I'm gazing around.
I'm wond'ring: What kind of a town,
what a number of people .
I don't understand any longer my trouble:

It's only one woman.

And I wonder how simple the answer is,
why I can't do it right now?
why I'm still sitting here?
it's so easy, a joke, and it's better

I'm staying aliiiiive.

There is no reason
for any suicide,
only, baby, because of
someone like you.

So, I'm leaving the roof
of my scyscraper, back going downstairs.
Maybe someone is waiting for me
in the streets of this town.

I'm going down.

There is no reason
for any suicide,
only, baby, because of
someone like you.

So, I'm leaving the roof
of my scyscraper, back going downstairs.
Maybe someone is waiting for me
in the streets of this town.

I'm going down
I'm going down
I'm going down
I'm going down.
