Australian

I've heard about the outback
The Centres beauty red
Founded by my brothers
These are my relatives
And I've seen a Gold Coast sunset
I think Heaven lent its light
From Tassie cold to Darwin hot
Through the Great Australian Bight
And the true blue rise again
As the sunrise tips her head

And I'm blessed to be Australian
Here's my heritage
All born, bred and raised here
The land of privilege
From low to high society
And every Aussie in-between
No worries we're fair dinkim
Being Australian

And then I met new-comers
From all corners of the world
I think I found Earths Heaven
Like a cluster of pure pearl
Our treasure's in our friendships
They go hard and they go deep
Sharing iced ones on the beach front
To the Outback majesty
In thongs, t-shirt & proud
We stand on Holy ground

And were blessed to be Australian
Here's our heritage
Whether born and raised here
Or the newest citizen
From outhouse & country
To Opera House & dreams
Fair dinkim mate, no worries
Australia's a keep

Water fights, hot Christmas
Playing cricket out the back
But I didn't know cold winters
Til we lived in Ballarat
We could drive to snow ski now
Tomorrow go the beach
Our cultures in the sun and shade
Beautiful diversity (ah ah ah ah, ah oh ah oh)

So In this middle of this night write
From the light outside my home
Pouring all my thought life
On the notes here on my mobile phone
It's not hard to pen a masterpiece
When you've lived in one all your life
Just a country girl in a city world
Still as Aussie as Vegemite
And I'm blessed to be her daughter
Red dust and open skies
The Outback and the ocean
From farms to Opal mines
This is a God kissed country
Fresh air and Southern Cross
Where family is legacy
Being Australian
Australian
Australian (Australian)
Australian
Australian
Australian
Australian
