Hollow

I've been working on appreciating all the little things
Finding all of the pieces that make me whole
I know I'm walking on a tightrope
It feels like one wrong step and I'll end up all alone
Maybe that's just the world I've grown to know

Why do I feel hollow
Like I'll never see tomorrow
What a tough pill to swallow
When you're already on your knees
Take me back to a time when I felt alright
And my mind didn't tell me I failed
Maybe I should know better
Or maybe my ship has sailed

Embers burn, holes in the heart
That I once knew
I've always been so confident
So "getting by" is something that feels so new
And I can struggle and toss and turn
This rope around my wrist is starting to hurt
Will someone help me bleed these insecurities dry

Why do I feel hollow
Like I'll never see tomorrow
What a tough pill to swallow
When you're already on your knees
Take me back to a time when I felt alright
And my mind didn't tell me I failed
Maybe I should know better
Or maybe my ship has sailed

I'm tired of this ache
It's clawing at what's left of me
I'm fighting for my life
But you know I won't go down without swinging
I'm tired of this ache
It's clawing at what's left of me
I'm fighting for my life
But you know I won't go down without swinging
Why do I feel hollow

Like I'll never see tomorrow
What a tough pill to swallow
When you're already on your knees
Take me back to a time when I felt alright
And my mind didn't tell me I failed
Maybe I should know better
Or maybe my ship has sailed
Mmmmm
No
