On the Road

Walking around the hardwood floors with shivers down my spine
Sometimes I wish that I could find a piece of mind
The things I do never tend to rise above
I wish I could see things through before my heart gets stuck

All these cold humid days have been a hard walk to bare
But I got God on my side and he'll always be there
I'll never know if I'll make it past today
So I guess it's time to change it can't wait another day

I'm on the road now
And I'm back to being free
Let's just float on down the coast and sip some cold sweet tea
I'm on the road now
The same as I always was
Windows down at the dusk of dawn outside air hittin' my lungs

The pain I felt is the strength I feel today
And the mercy I've been dealt makes everything okay
Cause I'm better now than I ever was before
So it's time to settle down I can't ask for too much more

I'm on the road now
And I'm back to being free
Let's just float on down the coast and sip some cold sweet tea
I'm on the road now
The same as I always was
Windows down at the dusk of dawn outside air hittin' my lungs

I'm on the road now
And I'm back to being free
Let's just float on down the coast and sip some cold sweet tea
I'm on the road now
The same as I always was
Windows down at the dusk of dawn outside air hittin' my lungs
