Serenity National Park

The front porch is the place
Where I'll settle and die
The world passes by
A ride a minute to measure a mile
At the table outside
Is where I'll spend my life
A person a moment
Another process, another side

Sleep deprived I'll take the climb
Ascend out of a hell devised
Take the voyage, take the trek
Away from any one regret
I'll run against the wind
Steadfast against the interference
Treading water under burning bridges
Paddling upstream, a scene recurrent

Difficult to attain
Thoughtfully embraced
Forged an escape plan
Towards this sacred place

Discovered a temple to revere
And another one to burn down
I've destroyed and rebuilt
And come to terms with lessons learned

Between the trees is where I rest my eyes
Another waking moment beyond my mind
