23

Lately, I've been walking down the same streets that don't feel the same
I've been coming back and forth to a house, not a home
Maybe it's just me that's unrecognizable To a certain degree, I don't think I've changed at all
But changing times come with age, and that's something you can't escape

Now, I'm 23, dreading every time the calendar comes back to May
And I'm watching the world go by, from plane windows
While I try just to keep my head in the clouds
Cause the light's look the same when you're not on the ground
Know I'll feel better yet someday, but for now, I'll just run away

Cold shoulder to my progress, cause that's just what I do best
Shut down in the process, down in the process
So many eyes on me to impress
Pressure on myself, heavy like I owe this
20-somethings like driving blind so fast

Now, I'm 23, dreading every time the calendar comes back to May
And I'm watching the world go by, from plane windows
While I try just to keep my head in the clouds
Cause the light's look the same when you're not on the ground
Know I feel better yet someday, but for now, I'll just run away

Ooh, I'll just run away, run away

Broken patterns, broken trust
Now I know why they say don't grow up
Crawling forward while I'm numb
To avoid all my consequences

Now, I'm 23, dreading every time the calendar comes back to May
And I'm watching the world go by, from plane windows
While I try just to keep my head in the clouds
Cause the light's look the same when you're not on the ground
Know I'll feel better yet someday, but for now, I'll just run away

Run away
Cause I'm 23
23
