Doing Just Fine

I'm awake
This cloud keeps me from sleep
What will it take
To make the grade
I need a dose
Something to take the pain
I'm getting close
I need to find a solution

I watch the clock, tick tock
Each second takes an hour to pass
To make it out of this I feel I need to
Climb the whole mast
Each glimmer of light, I fight
The door stays shut 'til it's dark
The street's an ocean and I'm pretty sure
It's all full of sharks
People know I'm home, the phone
It get's ignored - I'll talk when I'm right
But I'll brush questions off
It's nothing- I'll say any old shite
I can't find the words, like birds
They fly away
I'm just wasting their time
It's just me and I and we are both

I'm awake
This cloud keeps me from sleep
What will it take
To make the grade
I need a dose
Something to take the pain
I'm getting close
I need to find a solution

When it's all gone, I'm wrong
I know it won't take long and come back
I wonder what it will take for
My tortured head to just crack
And send me on a downward spiral
I know I will find new low
I don't know if I will climb out next time
It's dark again, I must remain afloat
And ride the wave, I crave a boat
To take me up to the shore, and more
I'll climb the sand and make a stand
One final time, I'll cry out to the wind
I win
You'll have to send a stronger storm
I told you before

I'm awake
This cloud keeps me from sleep
What will it take
To make the grade
I need a dose
Something to take the pain
I'm getting close
I need to find a solution
