Redeeming the Time

Time is a currency made to be spent
Spending it wisely is of noble intent
But time's been a burden since Adam was slain
The serpent's great victory was time rendered vain

Man spends time now from cradle to grave
Shackled to sin and death as a slave
He strives to enjoy life with each precious breath
And all that he lives for all ends in death

In time God gave His Son for us all
Made of a woman made under the law
Thirty three years of time spent pleasing Him
Then went to the cross with all of our sins

There on the cross it is finished he cried
Sins debt was paid when the last Adam died
Then there opened a storehouse of eternal life
With the purchasing power of redeeming the time

The old man is dead now there's risen a new
A fire soon will try all the works that they do
So walk in the new man and there you will find
The purchasing power of redeeming the time
