Chapter Ten

Look at me, a new addiction
Covered up my self-infliction
With early morning routine
Pour two cups, sit and mumble
Into a fifty-seven bursting my bubble
I should really learn how to sing
Because chapter nine's done
And summer's gone
Bike rides are few and far between
This is my favourite month
Filled with nostalgia
Too many goals are incomplete
The process is getting harder
Too much truth for a lie detector
Exposing insecurities
Flip the switch to get attention
Desperate need for a subtle reaction
This is the year I stop bleeding
Because these days are long
When I trust someone
Who spills their guts to every leaf
Resets my perspective
On the ones I love
I'll try to be more discreet
When they start questioning
What's this song's true meaning
