Heaven Waits

Like a napkin
Heaven folded
Glory up
And set the table

The bread of life
Was laid before us
In a lowly manger
But we had
No appetite

And a baby cried
Remembering heaven
And it's arms
Reached out
Reaching to heaven
To the father's heart
Which art in heaven
And because of this
I will get there
Heaven waits for me

Like a bottle
Heaven
Opened tenderly
Pouring out
The savior's love

Expensive wine
Disguised as
Mortal blood
The scent so glorious
That we failed
To recognize

And a baby cried
Remembering heaven
And it's arms
Reached out
Reaching to heaven
To the father's heart
Which art in heaven
And because of this
I will get there
Heaven waits for me

From the halls of heaven
To a manger low
Glory sacrificed
For broken souls
And a child
Shall lead them
The precious savior born
Left it all behind
To show
The way home...

And a baby cried
Remembering heaven
And it's arms
Reached out
Reaching to heaven
To the father's heart
Which art in heaven
And because of this
I will get there
Heaven waits for me
