We've Grown Up Together

When you were two, you lay in bed
Reading a book to rest your head
And six days later, I did it with you again
We sat in the garden eating ice cream
It was the 18th of May
It's the little things that I remember
Little things like leaving you in September

We've grown up together
Eating on the patio

On the beach
Building a sandcastle

There's a scarecrow too
Taking a photograph on a real camera

And when we got shut in
We had to learn to live a different way

For a couple of years
We're back to normal now, well maybe
But we've grown up together
We've grown up in this town
We've got big memories from small times
