The Keep Up

I'm usually good with my words but this one hard to explain
Tried to write you down this poem and it still felt the same
Was thinking on my way Hutch bouta ice you a chain
Is it fair to take someone love, but not take on they pain

I know it gotta rain for the flowers grow
And even then still some grow rather slow
I know strangers that skipped friends and went straight to lovers
What Im saying is I know some move faster others

And my anxiety rises tryna ensure we stay close
Not like Omari Hardwick on you I'd never go Ghost

But would you question my Love if I ain't want a child when you do
Or was ready to get down on one knee like I was tying my shoe

Can both of these things be true at one time?
I'm, Fresh in love and still Fresh in my prime
Some thangs are to the man and some thangs are divine
I'm just tryna do The Keep Up and not get left behind (I'm running for you)

Not to slow, not to fast
Let me hit the gas
Keep that speed, don't crash
I'm just tryna, Keep up

I got a body full of liquor and a heart full of love
Never dwell in past but do reflect on what was
Tho I'm fasho, it ain't where I'm at, it's where I'm bout to go
I just wanna love you on the way, and for you know
I don't build bonds to break em, I'm not here to destroy
I'm here to put work in as if I'm employed
My Earth Angel Nubian almond joy
Yo... Heart big as the bean in Illinois

You got real fears of being taken advantage of,
Need TLC and fasurely don't want it from no scrub
I testify to your love, hand on the Bible
and meeting yo mom, was like standing in front of counsel

I make deposits and check that I never bounce on you
So we are getting ugly this should never amount to
I know that Ship sails and turn to oh wells
When the road get Rocky and Adrian we'll prevail, If I can keep up.

Not to slow, not to fast Let me hit the gas
Keep that speed, don't crash
I'm just tryna, Keep up (Keep Up)
I'm just tryna, Keep up (Keep Up)
