If we could go back, back to the way
Back to the way it was back in the day
When we didn't worry about other folks
And what they say
Back when screen time, meant TV time
Then boy take your ass out and go play
Anymore, most things just don't feel quite the same
As it did way back in the day
Take it back like apologies
Back before every two blocks had a Dollar Tree
Back before everything we heard was a fallacy
We played outside till nighttime
Till I heard my mama callin' me
Now rewind like an old tape
We hit a cold lake and then we cut up like OJ
You see a joke was a joke, Coke was a Coke
Now everybody's woke
It was easy back then, you could tease me back when
We were cheesy back then
We could laugh at a friend, we took a few on the chin
Went to school with a grin
We didn't break, hell, we didn't even bend

Mama told me not to bow down
A little cowtown taught me all I ever need to know

But I'm confused at the news, all we want now are views

But I'm trying to concentrate on being here, too

We can all smile and laugh
