A-Dozin' an' a-Dancin'

One day, some nights ago
I laid down on my couch
In a few minutes
I was a-dozin' well and good

When I laid there
I had only dream in mind
You see, my fantastic imagination
It took me for a tour

All of a sudden, I was on the street
Wandering my way down
I was apperently
Walking in sunshine

All of a sudden, I come up to a girl's house
Knocking on the door, but nobody was home
So I looked in through the window
And I saw only black

Then, somebody came up the porch
And guess, it was the red-headed owner of the house
She said, "Another time, friend"
And patted me on my back

Then she walked into the house
And I was stranded outside her door
What I did, started dancing with a broom
To a song inside my head

I never learned the song, or had never heard it anywhere
Let me tell you, the broom, she knew her way
We danced for a minute or two
Til all the neighbors started looking, and I blushed, as so would you

And then, I woke up from my doze
And found out my cat and I were lying spoon
And what loss I was never a-dancin' with the broom
And what unluck, not me and my love under the moon
