There goes his alarm, Stevie stumbles out of bed
Got another day of things to do and songs to write ahead
As he rushes out the door, he'll grab something quick to eat
Something simple, something bland, he's hungover though so not too sweet

Begin the drive to work, take a bite out of his kind
Millions of things he has to do, all cloud his troubled mind
Solve one problem, there's another, cycle never seems to end
And tomorrow, there's another stupid client to offend

Trapped in a routine, why he stays he can't explain

Day at work gone by, he tries to change it up

When he's at his job, here comes Nina and her kid
I know this is on a sale, but would you take another bid

When he's finally off of work, has big plans for once he's home
