Into the Moon

I stare endlessly at the moon
Dreaming of the life I could have
But I'm too afraid to make a change
Too afraid to live and laugh

I raise my glass to my old friend
The friend of many since the dawn of man
Say cheers to her beautiful face
And to the past of the human race

I dream of a new place every day
But I stay here anyway
Never moving, never changing
Just staring into the moon

I could be sailor or an architect
Maybe a marshal chasing those hell bent
Saving the world or destroying it first
A million choices at worst, a million choices

Into the moon, into the moon
All I'm doing is staring, just staring

So much potential, so much hope
It slowly fades away day after day
I see my future becoming my present
I never thought it would happen this way

Ten years slowly creep on
Envisioning the life for which I pray
Why can't I act? why can't I grow?
Only god can know

I dream of a new place every day
But I stay here anyway
Never moving, never changing
Just staring into the moon

I could be a lawyer or a construction worker
Maybe even a spy or a translator
Saving the world or destroying it first
A million choices at worst, a million choices

Into the moon, into the moon
All I'm doing is staring, just staring

And as my mom reads me another book
I can't help think of the life that could have been
Out of this bed and able to move
Is wishing for freedom my next life such a sin?
Such a sin? Such a sin

I just want to feel alive, I just want to feel alive
Please god, save me from this hell I feel, hell I feel
