Weeki Wachee River
Well I used to like to float down the weeki wachee river
Now I'm land locked away in Tennessee
No its never been the same since I packed and moved away
From the bluest water I have ever seen
So I hope its not a bother that my face always looks somber
And I look like I always have to go
I like to puff and drink but id rather do that on a bank
Leading out to the Gulf of Mexico
So take me back to the Weeki Wachee River
Before scallop season ends in September
Where theres mermaids in the water and there's moonshine in your liver
Take me back to the Weeki Wachee River
Well after a long week of sweatin for my dollar
And no lady to love when I come home
I would drive out to that 74-degree river
To sleep in a no-wake zone
But now that I stay 6-hundred miles away
And theres no money in the tank left for the road
I'll have to go longer without that crystal blue water
Everybody outta leave me alone
So take me back to the Weeki Wachee River
Before scallop season ends in September
Where theres mermaids in the water and there's moonshine in your liver
Take me back to the Weeki Wachee River
So take me back to the Weeki Wachee River
Before I go insane
Where theres nothin on your mind expect the cherry moonshine
And lady that calls you by your name
Where theres nothin on your mind expect the cherry moonshine
And lady that calls you by your name
Now I'm land locked away in Tennessee
No its never been the same since I packed and moved away
From the bluest water I have ever seen
So I hope its not a bother that my face always looks somber
And I look like I always have to go
