Family Road

Well you wouldn't know it
Unless you're from round here
But that old gravel road
Has made some memories through the years
From making footpaths to the fishing hole
To dust clouds blurring up the taillight glow
I grew up here it's where my roots were sowed

Yeah, my mom got us up for church every Sunday Morning
And we'd start that walk down that old dusty drive
We'd pick up a couple good skipping rocks
And toss em' on into the neighbors pond
Oh why would I ever wanna leave

Cause I've got all I need within a mile
Grandma and grandpa always greet me with a smile
No need for the market cause we grow our own
This old gravel road is what I call home
And I can drive it all with my eyes closed
And I bet I won't hit a single one of them potholes
And I can guarantee that I'm never leaving
This family road

This old farmhouse is as bout as old they get
Grandpa grew up here and he ain't left yet
I asked him if it's the age or the memories
He set down his coffee mug and said to me

I've got all I need within a mile
Grandma and grandpa
Would always greet me with a smile
No need for the market cause we grow our own
This old gravel road is what I call home
And I can drive it all with my eyes closed
And I bet I won't hit a single one of them potholes
And I can guarantee I'm never leaving
This family road

I can drive four miles in four minutes
However fast you wanna go there's no speed limit
The only sign we have is dead end ahead
And it better stay that way until I'm dead

Cause I've got all I need within a mile
Grandma and grandpa always greet me with a smile
No need for the market cause we grow our own
This old gravel road is what I call home
And I can drive it all with my eyes closed
And I bet I won't hit a single one of them potholes
And I can guarantee that I'm never leaving
Oh, I can guarantee that I'm never leaving
Yeah, I can guarantee that I'm never leaving
This family road
