Redleaf

In the autumn
Under the maple tree
Fiery red leaves
Ablaze all around me
The wind fans their flame
Setting them free
Covering the ground red
In their last glory

It's better to burn out
Than fade away

Twirling, falling down
Surrounding me
They drift and float
Ever so aimlessly
Showing their true color
So boldly
I absorb their warmth
And radiant beauty

My mind wanders
In this sea of red leaves
I never want it to end
This healing frequency
As the sun fades
Their ambient glow remains
Like embers slowly burning
Then dying without warning

It's better to burn out
Than fade away

Red leaves falling down
From the maple tree
They drift and float
Ever so aimlessly
Like red flames aglow
Enchanting me
I absorb their warmth
And radiant beauty
Twirling, falling down
Consuming me
Showing their true color
So boldly
They set my heart aflame
With their beauty
Whisper in my ear
Your story
Your story
