My Life
I took my first steps to mom's record collection
Hung on the wall
I wanted to hear that Al Green
Stevie Wonder or Marvin Gaye sing that song
I don't remember my father he wasn't really there
So it was only me and Miss Pat Scott but that was ok
She raised me everywhere
I learned piano at the age of six
Then came cello tenor saxophone man that was the shit
I was born to stand up and not to sit
I found my voice at the age of thirteen
Singing in choirs that was the thing to keep me grounded
Out of trouble music was my life man that was my thing
Growing up in Long Beach that was the flex
High school playin' b-ball I wonder what's next
Oh yea adulthood off to college that was epic
Got married at a young age I thought I knew the game
But that fast fell apart then had an issue with my heart
Life wasn't the same
Years went by I found I had a computer for a brain
Rose up in the IT I met someone got cancer
Man life's insane
Curve balls left and right faced mortality dead in the face
But I'm not done with life's race
It's a brief look at my life today
This is the story of my life
And I grew into this man that's before you
I will let you know how I got started
My ups and down I'm not ashamed
Of where I came from
Not making an excuse nah
This is the story of my walk
And how I went through life
Fought my battles
Got knocked down and got back up
Just a little peak into the life of Transparent-C
This is my life on display for you to see
Twenty-nineteen was the year
When I didn't have a residence
A hotel was my home for 30 days
Cause my home was hesitant
Cause there were cancelled plans
It wasn't how it was supposed to be
It was supposed to be in my home with the one who held the key
Flash forward to twenty twenty yeah that's when covid hit me
With a breathing tube down my throat to keep me alive
That's when I saw my granny again with her arms out wide
Telling me welcome home
I faced mortality again but my granny said that my life isn't done
So I came back to this plain of existence
And now I used this life to motivate you
To lift you up in the midst of this system
I had a bout with depression like I said in Just Breathe
I use my life as an example to show you
You can make it keep fighting
Even the I relapsed with leukemia yeah cancer again
But I made it through and you can too
Just keep pushing
This is a little look into my life and how I came to be
The man who I am will leave his legacy
This is the story of my life
And I grew into this man that's before you
I will let you know how I got started
My ups and down I'm not ashamed
Of where I came from
Not making an excuse nah
