Sacred Space

Tonight she stood and said goodbye
To the man she loved for all of time
She said she would not take a break
And that that would spare his feelings

It's not normal to go out like that
It's not every day you feel so sad
It's the best and the worst
And all of that
It's all of your thoughts
And they're bad

If you have lonesome days and crazy nights
You spend your hours just half alive
You spend your life locked in a shrine
That no one wants to visit

Yet that's the path she plotted out
For him to see his future now
He had to think of a better place
A better time, a better space
For he is without a doubt, leaving his shrine

He'll now be going to a sacred space
But, its not the same as when he held his pace
With her
Who pretty much called all the shots

For at least tonight he will be in a sacred space
At least for one night
